His agent Mark Heaslip told CBS' The Early Show that Haim "was running a fever" of 99 to 101 shortly before his death, adding "He was laying in bed. And that night, he went to sleep, and he asked his breast cancer-stricken mother Judy to come into the room because he was having breathing problems. Heaslip said that Haim asked his mom, "'Would you lie next to me in bed?' . . . So she laid next to him in the bed, and she told Corey to roll on your side to see if it would help you breathe better, and Corey said he started feeling better. So they both went to sleep."

Former teen star Corey Haim died on Wednesday (March 10th) in Los Angeles at the age of 38. TMZ.com reports that Haim collapsed in front of his mother around 1 a.m., after which paramedics took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about two hours later.

Media outlets are reporting that the cause of death is likely an accidental prescription drug overdose. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that four prescription bottles were found near his body. Haim has reportedly been battling flu-like symptoms in the past few days, but the medications recovered were supposedly unrelated.

Corey's mom reportedly told authorities he had been battling prescription drug addiction for years.
His agent, however, said he thought it was unlikely an overdose killed Haim. Mark Heaslip told People magazine, "I really don't think it was an overdose. He was doing really well. He did struggle with substance abuse, but I've repped him for a year-and-a-half and part of my agreement with him was that he had to be clean. That was the number one priority."

Sure, James Gandolfini almost beats Patricia Arquette to death and she has to blow him away with a shotgun, but that doesn’t mean it’s not romantic. It just has to be done my way, and I think people want me to do it my way.” Tarantino, 46, also revealed plans for a prequel to the Brad Pitt-starring Basterds: “At a certain point, there’s a third Kill Bill movie. A prequel to Inglourious Basterds.
“And sooner or later I’ll make another gangster film.” Tarantino has previously revealed that he’s a huge fan of rom-coms. “These rom-coms get a bad rap but actually I’ve been a fan of romantic comedies since the 30s — they usually work on wordplay and everything like that, so I actually think I’d be really good at it,” he said.

Alec agreed with the positive response to his performance, telling Usmagazine.com, "I think it went great! I think it went really well. We decided it wasn't about Steve and me, it's about the nominees and the presenters. You don't need to see us!"
The New York Post printed, "The two seriously funny guys got seriously funny. Having all the Best Actor nominees on stage at once was great because it gave the hosts a way to start riffing on them all as they sat down... Instead of the usual deference to the stars, and/or spoof of the movies' openers, Martin and Baldwin cleverly roasted each of the nominees -- and some of it was hilarious."
The Washington Post noted that, "Twilight's Kirsten Stewart still looks like your sullen, no-one-else-was-available babysitter," while the Los Angeles Times mused, " This year's Oscars seemed to suffer from a crisis of confidence. Although studded with entertaining and emotional moments, it just never seemed to get going."

Warner Bros. has announced plans to make a movie out of Gilligan's Island, the '60s sitcom about seven folks stranded on an uninhabited Pacific island after their tour boat wrecks in a storm.
Series creator Sherwood Schwartz has mentioned Michael Cera as a dream actor to play Gilligan and Beyoncé as a possible choice for curvaceous movie star Ginger Grant, but there's no official word yet on any casting. Here's who People Magazine would pick for the stranded.

Gilligan (originally played by Bob Denver): Sure, master-of-the-awkward-pause Cera would work. But we could see Justin Long of "I'm a Mac" fame or actor/singer Drake Bell sporting Gilligan's white cap and goofy expressions, too. 61% of readers picked Justin Long the mac guy!

Capt. Jonas Grumby, a.k.a. Skipper (originally Alan Hale, Jr.): Philip Seymour Hoffman has played roles as varied as Truman Capote and the bad guy in Mission: Impossible III, but he could bring the right balance of comedy and heft to the role of Skipper, who is constantly annoyed with his dopey "little buddy" Gilligan.

Movie star Ginger Grant (originally Tina Louise): Schwartz seems to have hit the nail on the head with Beyoncé. She can act, sing and be glamorous – even on a deserted island.

Girl next door Mary Ann Summers (originally Dawn Wells): Who better than cutie-pie Tennessee native Ginnifer Goodwin, from HBO's Big Love?

The Professor (originally Russell Johnson): John Krasinski has stolen hearts as Pam's smart-but-sweet squeeze in The Office and Meryl Streep's son-in-law in It's Complicated. He'd bring the right mix of sex appeal and smarts to the brainy Professor role.

Wealthy couple Thurston and Eunice Howell (originally Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer): Who could be classier than George Clooney and Susan Sarandon? It's about time these two worked together on the big screen, even if it would make Sarandon a bit of a cougar, since she's 63 to Clooney's 48.

Sandra Bullock sure likes leaving things ’till the last minute! The Blind Side star — who is up for a Best Actress gong at this year’s Academy Awards — says she still hasn’t picked her Oscars dress. “I still haven’t found my Oscar dress,” says Sandra. “For some reason I thought the ceremony was two weeks away — but then someone told me ‘No Sandra it’s a week away. I’m not too worried. I’ve still got a few days. I’ll be fine. The amount of chocolate I have eaten in the last two weeks is ridiculous,” she said last month. “It’s kind of counterproductive to fitting into the tiny dress for the Oscars but I can’t help it.”

Despite the ban, Chartier will receive an Oscar if his film wins best picture.

Ebert had been using off-the-shelf computer voices that didn't sound like him. On Oprah, he said that the new version still needs improvement, but he was happier with the results. He told the talk show host, "In first grade, they said I talk too much. And now I still can."

Fresh -- really fresh -- off his figure skating gold medal at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, Evan Lysacek will compete for glory again.
The show would not be complete without it's requisite NFL player, and filling that role this season is Chad Ochocinco. Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Rounding out the cast is scandal-plagued broadcaster Erin Andrews, The Insider's Niecey Nash and soap star Aiden Turner. The new season begins on March 22nd.

Johnny  Depp hates looking at himself in the mirror. The actor says despite regularly topping Sexiest Man Alive polls, he goes out of his way to avoid his own reflection. “I tend to avoid mirrors at all costs,” he says. “I hate them, can’t look at myself. I couldn’t watch myself practice my happy dance as the Mad Hatter because I couldn’t stand it. We had to treat it like a kind of stunt.” Depp — who plays the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s new movie Alice in Wonderland — recently admitted he likes wearing “skirts”. “The Scottish accent was something I did mess around with on Finding Neverland,” he said. “That was a bit more Aberdeen, and Tim Burton and I talked about the Hatter being made up of different people and going to extremes… go dark and dangerous with the Scottish accent. I hope I arrived there. And I like wearing skirts too!”

Forbes.com has put together another one of their wonderfully entertaining pop culture lists.  This time, we're looking at Hollywood's Most Influential Celebrities.  And sitting at the very top, not surprisingly, is Oprah Winfrey.

Disney has moved up the DVD release date for Alice in Wonderland to a full five weeks earlier than its normal schedule, angering Europe’s top movie theater chain in the process. Odeon & UCI Cinemas group, which operates 132 theaters across Europe, says it has no plans to play the Johnny Depp film for fears that moviegoers will skip the big screen in favor of an earlier DVD release. Analysts say that Disney’s decision is part of its long-term plan to decrease reliance on cinemas and increase its DVD, Blu-ray, and online distribution revenues. DVDs used to be released six months after a film’s theatrical opening, but studios have been quietly hacking away at that period. Disney’s plan shrinks the wait to 12 weeks. Stateside, negotiations are still continuing between Disney and AMC, leaving 4,500 screens up in the air. Analysts don’t foresee a protest from AMC or other top US theater chains, because the movie is expected to be the year’s first mega blockbuster release.

-Elisabeth Hasselbeck was christened “The Attraction.”
-Sherri’s Snooki pouf got her the nickname “The Duplication.”

The National Enquirer — the supermarket tabloid celebs love to loathe — shocked the political world in 2009 when the publication actually got something right for once and blew the lid off the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter Lovechild Sex Scandal. Now the coup could earn the tawdry tab literature’s most prestigious award, a Pulitzer Prize. Has the world gone mad?
The Enquirer thinks it should be up for Pulitzer for its reporting on the Edwards scandal — which hit headlines when it was discovered that the former presidential candidate cheated on his terminally-ill wife and fathered a child with his former campaign videographer, Hunter.
“We’ll see what happens,” Enquirer executive editor Barry Levine said on Friday. “We want to see now that the Pulitzer people review our submission and we expect, obviously, that there’s going to be tremendous competition in the investigative category and in the national reporting category.”

NBC considered depicting the failed Jay Leno Show as a mere dream: Promo spots would feature Leno and Victoria Principal in the shower, an homage to the classic Dallas scene in which Principal dreamed the death of her onscreen husband. Instead, the network is opting for a low-key echo of the commercials that launched Leno: Last fall, he was shown driving a race car emblazoned with a 10, a reminder of his new slot. In spots that began airing during the Olympics Wednesday night, he's driving the same car, only the 10 is replaced by 11:35 (or 10:35, depending on your time zone), as the Beatles song urges him to "Get back to where you once belonged."

Somewhere Lady Gaga’s trying on a hat shaped like a tree and clapping with glee that she had the good sense to dodge the bullet that is “We Are The World 25.” Stereogum.com has taken aim at a recently-released remake of the classic 1985 charity anthem, just days after rap mogul Jay-Z gingerly suggested that the 80 artists who lent their vocals to the track for Haitian earthquake relief would have been better off just forking over a few of their millions. Her efforts were shut down after MTA officials cited its policy of not naming stations after people. A memorial mural is now set for the H-S station entrance and will be displayed on private property adjacent to what the MTA owns. Benenson Capital, who owns the wall where the mural will be painted, will select the artist.

Some of Oscar's most memorable moments have come during performances of nominated songs. Don't expect such musical moments at the 82nd Academy Awards. The artists behind the year's five nominated songs will not perform during the Oscar telecast. Instead, the songs will be showcased with clips from the films that featured them, "which is how most nominated achievements are featured within the show," Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences spokeswoman Leslie Unger said Wednesday.
That means Randy Newman won't get to take the stage for his two nominated tunes, Almost There and Down in New Orleans from The Princess and the Frog.
Marion Cotillard won't reprise her sexy, heart-wrenching performance of Take It All, written by Maury Yeston for Nine. Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas can't bring their Loin de Paname from Paris 36 to life.
And The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart) won't be performed by Crazy Heart star Jeff Bridges or its writers Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett.
There will still be dancing on the show. Producer and choreographer Adam Shankman announced on his Twitter page that he cast 69 dancers for the show's production numbers, though he hasn't revealed exactly what he has planned.

It has come down to the wire for the contestants on American Idol. This week's episode kicked off by separating the 71 contestants into three groups. As the judges deliberated, snippets of the final auditions were shown. The first group to receive good news was room one, which contained some of the judges' favorites like Jermaine Sellers, Casey James and Andrew Garcia. Casey James ended up being the only male singing Colby Caillat's ''Bubbly,'' which pleased the judges. Sellers, on the other hand, gave excuses for his performance, which may have dug him into a ditch. Waiting in room two was rocker Mary Powers, who remained confident in her audition. Powers thought that she had done enough to make it to the Top 24, but in the end her group was cut. The contestants in room three included Shelby Dressel and Ashley Rodriguez. Dressel let her nerves get to her during the rehearsal but she managed to remember the lyrics. Room three also received good news. Idol ended by revealing seven of the Top 24 contestants: Michael ''Big Mike'' Lynche, Didi Benami, Katelyn Epperly, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Lee Dewyze, and Toddrick Hall.

“I’d like to do a Western. But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject that everybody is afraid to deal with,” Tarantino said. “Let’s shine that light on ourselves. You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Or, you could make a movie that would be exciting. Do it as an adventure. A spaghetti Western that takes place during that time. And I would call it ‘A Southern.’”

Kevin Smith is livid after being kicked off a Southwest Air flight -- for being too fat. The airline explained to People magazine that the 39-year-old director originally purchased two tickets "as he's been known to do when traveling Southwest," but when he decided to fly standby on an earlier flight, only one seat remained. They stated that his removal was for the "safety and comfort of all customers." Smith tweeted about the incident, writing, "I broke no regulation, offered no 'safety risk' (what, was I gonna roll on a fellow passenger?) I saw someone bigger than me on THAT flight! But I wasn't about to throw a fellow Fatty under the plane as I'm being profiled. But he & I made eye contact, & he was like 'Please don't tell...'"
After Southwest went public with their explanation and claim that they apologized to Smith, he responded, "I've read this massive chunk of misinformation a lot today: "Kevin Smith usually buys two seats when he flies commercial airlines." Proof? But look how easily misinformation is spread. I've read that "usually 2 tickets" bulls*** EVERYWHERE today. Thanks again, @SouthwestAir REGARDLESS OF HOW FREQUENTLY I've purchased a spare seat in the past, the real story is: I fit not only their criteria, but also the seat."

Golden Girls legend Betty White is stunned fans have set up a group on Facebook campaigning to land her a job as host on Saturday Night Live – because she thought people would be sick of seeing her on TV by now! Over 330,000 members of the website have signed a petition to urge show bosses to consider letting White act as a celebrity host on the long-running sketch show for the first time in her more than 50 year career.
She tells E! Online: “I’m just amazed. I would think by now that they’ve had such an overdose of Betty White that they’d be throwing rocks instead. (It) would depend on scheduling and all that. But who knows? You can’t ever say yes or no or never – you just wait to see what happens.”

After 29 years, Barbara Walters is bidding farewell to her annual pre-awards show special. On The View Monday, Babs revealed that next month’s Oscar interview special will be her last.
“ABC has asked me to keep doing these specials as they have been so successful. I’m thrilled we have such great stars and have such a wonderful show for this last one – but to be honest, I feel like I’ve ‘been there, done that,’” Walters confided to fans on this morning’s program.
“This special has been a labor of love for 29 years. I will always remember when Hugh Jackman gave me a private lap dance or sitting down with the legendary Bette Davis or being taught to tango by Al Pacino,” Babs recalled. “It’s those priceless moments that have made this special the Oscar tradition that it has become, but I truly feel enough is enough.”
The Barbara Walters Special 2010, airing on Oscar Night March 7, will feature chats with Academy Award-nominees Sandra Bullock and Mo’Nique, as well as a host of other Hollywood stars. The veteran newswoman is still expected to carry on with her other annual ABC News Special, The 10 Most Fascinating People.

Sean Penn went to visit his new bud Brad Pitt last night at the Los Feliz home he shares with Angelina Jolie and the kids and it seems the Oscar-winning actor had a bit of trouble waiting for the gate to open fully and he crashed into the wrought-iron fence at the end of Pitt's private drive! X17 Gossip site  photographers say the actor was driving wildly, as usual, and as the security gate to Pitt's street opened, Penn rushed through, swiping his pick-up truck along a fixed part of the gate on the right. Uh ... Spicoli? Brad and Sean notoriously butted heads while filming Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life in 2008. Reports said there was trouble between the two because of Pitt's ex Jennifer Aniston's friendship with Penn (stemming from a short film Jen directed starring Sean's on-again-off-again wife Robin Wright). So why might these two be hanging out? Perhaps they're hoping to revive Tree, listed on IMDB as being in post-production but reported as having been shelved by various other sources. The film features Pitt as the father of a boy whose lost innocence haunts him as he grows into a man played by Penn. It's a highly-conceptual film, governed by a heavy-hand from Malick. The picture was originally set for release last year but a rep for Malick's distributor explained the helmer wanted to spend extra time in the editing room which would push back the release to sometime this year. Reports speculate Tree may premiere at Cannes in May.

While all scenes for Full House were shot on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank, the Victorian house now for sale was featured during the opening credits of the sitcom — which launched the career of The Olsen Twins when it ran on ABC between 1987-1995. Built in 1906, the “Painted Ladies” structure is located at 722 Steiner St. in San Francisco’s “Alamo Square,” and should only be priced at $1.5 million — based on sales figures for surrounding properties. Of course, its place in pop culture history gives 1906 Steiner the right to demand only the highest bidders. Does Uncle Joey still live in the basement???

Oscar Nominations are out..here is the official site.

Land of the Lost and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen were the worst films of 2009 -- at least judging by Razzie nominations, of which both pictures earned seven. The movies will face off against each other for the official title of worst picture along with Sandra Bullock's romance All About Steve, the action tale G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the Robin Williams-John Travolta comedy Old Dogs.
Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is nominated for worst actress for her role in All About Steve -- which is likely to be balanced by an Oscar nomination this morning. If Bullock does get a nod from the Academy -- and wins both awards, Razzie founder John Wilson notes that "She could be the first person ever to win a Razzie and an Oscar in the same weekend." For a full rundown of the worst, check out the Razzie official site.

Wooooh. Joey plays family manny, Joey. Sounds like a convoluted who's the boss.
