What New Parents DON’T Need
What New Parents DON’T Need

Jen just had her first child, Dante…he’s ADORABLE!  (Aren’t ALL new babies?)

Are you expecting?

First off, congratulations!  Here are a few items new parents DON’T need for their first child:

Baby laundry detergent  Many “extra gentle” detergents have the exact same ingredients as regular, less expensive detergent. Skip dryer sheets to avoid irritating skin.

Wipes warmers  A warm washcloth will give you the same effect.

Diaper pail  There’s really no use for it after it’s done, so make due without one.

Fluffy blankets  Few are actually safe for wrapping up baby. Fluffy blankets can overheat, too. Instead, use thin receiving blankets and swaddling blankets.

Baby toiletries  ParentSquad.com says shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer are a waste of money. Just wash the baby in warm water and at the very most a little mild castile soap (mild soap made from vegetable oils).

Any to add to the list?
