An advisory has been issued for boaters on Cayuga Lake due to high water levels.

Tompkins County Sheriff Ken Lansing says the high water advisory includes a no-wake zone for boaters within 500 feet of the shore line.

Boaters are being told to be aware of floating debris in the water as well.

Advisories had now been issued for both Cayuga and Seneca lakes this week.

As of Wednesday morning, water levels were at moderate flood stage, according to the National Weather Service.
