Howl-O-Ween 2018 Rules


Starting Saturday October 6, 2018 @ 5 AM Lite Rock 97.3 will be starting the “Howl-O-Ween” Pet photo contest. This is an online photo contest with a voting component which will run until Wednesday October 31, 2018 @ 8 AM.

Entry deadlines:

  • October 6, 2018 @ 5 AM until October 24, 2018 @ 5 AM to enter a photo.
  • October 24, 2018 @ 5 AM until October 31, 2018 @ 8 AM to vote on submitted photos.

Winner will be chosen on 10/31/2018 and will be decided by who has received the most votes. In the event of a tie a winner will be chosen at random from the tied photos.

The winning entrant will receive a grand prize which consists of:

  • Five $20 gift cards valued at $100 total to IthaPaws
  • Dog Bones valued at 29.49 from Dryden Agway
  • Dog Biscuits valued at 11.99 from Dryden Agway
  • Dog Leash valued at 14.99 from Dryden Agway
  • Treat Dispenser valued at 12.99 from Dryden Agway
  • Flitter Fly Cat Toy valued at 29.99 from Dryden Agway
  • Dog/Cat lover’s pasta valued at 9.98 from Dryden Agway
  • Pasta Sauce valued at 6.99 from Dryden Agway

Total prize package minimum value: $216

Must be 18+ to enter. One photo entry per person. Submitting more than one entry per person will invalidate all entries by that contestant. Any entry submitted on behalf of another individual or using another person’s email address or name will be disqualified and ineligible to claim any prize. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries allowed by using same, multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods void that participants entries and that participant may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to any on-line registration, the authorized account holder of the email address sued to register will be deemed to be the registrant and he/she must be eligible according to these official rules. No mechanically reproduced or automated entries permitted. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification and all such entries will be deemed void.

Listeners can vote once per day during the voting round. Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address. If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, WYXL reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion.

WYXL contests are open to all eligible New York State and Pennsylvania State residents 18 or older have not won anything on WYXL in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WYXL, Cayuga Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WYXL main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

No purchase necessary. Prize is not redeemable or transferable for cash. WYXL sole responsibility will be to award the prize. WYXL shall have no further responsibility if the prize winner for any reason cannot or decides not to use any of the prize. Winner responsible for all applicable federal and state taxes. Fees and incidentals are not included with the prize and are the sole responsibility of the winner.
