A health warning for parents

Here’s another reason to make sure your medications are safely secured.

CBS News reports that melatonin overdoses in children under five have jumped 530% in the past decade.

Two factors are in play here…one is that they often come in gummy form (so they look like candy) and parents are leaving them out for kids to try (like on nightstands and such).

Now a deadly overdose of melatonin is very rare…most kids just need to be monitored in an ER and they might have some stomach pain or nausea.

But it’s best to keep all of your meds out of reach…and in your medicine cabinet.
