Can you do the “sit-to-stand” test?

How healthy are you…really?

Here’s a fun health test to try from the Washington Post.

That is…IF you pass!

It’s called the “sit-to-stand” test or “cross-leg get up” test…all you have to do is sit down on the floor and stand back up.

Easy, right?  Not so fast, my friend!

You can’t use your arms, knees or grab anything for support. 😲

Simply lower yourself down until you’re sitting cross-legged then stand back up.

Ideally, you should be able to do it without putting your hand or knee down or grabbing onto anything…easy for those in good health.

Each test score starts at 10 and subtracts one point every time support was needed…like if you put your hand down once to sit and again to stand, that’s an 8 out of 10.  They also subtracted half-a-point every time the person lost their balance and wobbled.

People who score 4 or lower are considered in poor health…eight or higher the best.

If you want to try it, they say do it on a rug or mat in case you fall and have something like a chair or wall next to you in case you need help…and maybe a spotter!

DON’T try it if you have knee, hip, spine or joint issues or any sort of physical disability.

See the demo video below…and good luck!
