Celebrating St. Paddy’s Day at home

Today is a very different St. Patrick’s Day.

With the COVID-19 restrictions on bars and restaurants here in New York, most of us (if we’re celebrating) will be doing it in small groups and most likely at home.

Here are a few ways you can still “rock your Irish” today:

Watch some Irish movies  Check out Harper’s Bazaar‘s list of over 20 of the best.

“Virtually” celebrate  The Milwaukee Irish Fest, the largest Irish event in North America, will be live-streaming it…and Boston’s Irish band the Dropkick Murphys are streaming their show live, too. Distractify also has several others events, too.

Brush up on your “homeland”  Close to 33 million Americans have Irish ancestors so spend some time to see if you’re one of them! The IrishTimes can get you started on your trip back into time.

Irish cooking  The holiday is synonymous with corned beef and cabbage…but that’s not the only dish you could make.  Delish.com has lots of recipes…maybe try a new one!

Also…a caveat. You may want to tone down your celebrations this year…drinking too much alcohol weakens your immune system, which is exactly what you don’t want right now.

All that said…as they say in Ireland…Slainte! 🍺 (That means “Cheers!”)
