Habits that can make you sick

With the flu and coronavirus going around, we’ve got to be more careful than ever when it comes to staying healthy.

Bustle‘s got some common habits that could make you sick without realizing it, including:

  • Biting your nails  Putting your fingers in your mouth is unsanitary and can expose you to all sorts of bacteria (and it’s not great for teeth, either)
  • Eating at your desk  You’re typing on a keyboard that’s most likely covered in germs and then putting food in your mouth…not the smartest thing to do
  • Smoking  Other than the known risks, it can also decrease your immune function making you more likely to catch the flu, a cold or pneumonia
  • Not changing your sheets  Dust mites love your nice, warm bed as much as you do and they can cause colds and/or trigger asthma symptoms
  • Not getting enough sleep  Your energy level decreases and makes you more susceptible to illness because your cells can’t fully recharge while you snooze

You may be guilty of one (or more) of these…try to break the habit for better health!
