Common Weight Loss Mistakes

Still having trouble shedding those unwanted pounds?

The Independent and Women’s Health shared some of the most common mistakes we make when trying to lose weight.

They include:

  • Buying low-fat versions of everything  They usually add more salt and sugar to make them taste good which is worse.
  • Only doing cardio  You need to lift weights, too…no matter what your age. Adding muscle kick-starts your metabolism.
  • Not getting enough sleep  You’re more likely to gain weight if you get less than six hours a night..try to hit the seven or eight hour zone.
  • Setting unrealistic goals  Don’t expect to lose a ton of weight overnight or you’ll get discouraged…think big picture.
  • Not drinking enough water You may not need to drink 8 glasses a day as was once thought…but it does makes you feel full, so you’re less likely to snack or drink soda, energy drinks orjuice that have a lot of empty calories.
  • Weighing yourself TOO much  Once a day is fine…either in the morning or at night…your choice!

Good luck reaching your goal!
