The Independent and Women’s Health shared some of the most common mistakes we make when trying to lose weight.
They include:
- Buying low-fat versions of everything They usually add more salt and sugar to make them taste good which is worse.
- Only doing cardio You need to lift weights, too…no matter what your age. Adding muscle kick-starts your metabolism.
- Not getting enough sleep You’re more likely to gain weight if you get less than six hours a night..try to hit the seven or eight hour zone.
- Setting unrealistic goals Don’t expect to lose a ton of weight overnight or you’ll get discouraged…think big picture.
- Not drinking enough water You may not need to drink 8 glasses a day as was once thought…but it does makes you feel full, so you’re less likely to snack or drink soda, energy drinks orjuice that have a lot of empty calories.
- Weighing yourself TOO much Once a day is fine…either in the morning or at night…your choice!
