Curb your phone addiction

Apple’s newest update to its operating system will have a new feature called “Digital Health” designed to keep you from getting too addicted to your phone by tracking your usage and limiting how long you can use some apps.

If you said to yourself…”Too late!”…here are some tips from Inc to try while you wait for iOS 12:

  • Turn off some of your notifications  Just reducing the number of dings and alerts that pop up on your screen can help a lot.  Only get notifications for stuff that’s ACTUALLY urgent, like maybe emails and texts.
  • Be mindful about scrolling  It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re scrolling through endless posts on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Don’t use apps for everything  Go “old-school” with some things, like using a notebook or an actual alarm clock (with a radio, natch!).
  • LET your friends and family call you out on it  They notice you on your phone more than you do so give them permission to point it out when you go overboard.
  • Go “mono”  If all else fails, go “mono” by turning your screen black and white. Most phones give you a “greyscale” option and studies show all those bright colors are a big part of why can’t look away from them!

Let us know how it goes…shoot us a text or something! 😉
