USA Today has the most commonly used terms used by teenagers…they are:
- Sus – Short for “suspect”
- Bet – Used to express agreement…akin to “Uh huh” and “Yep”
- Yeet – Used when throwing a useless object
- Salty – When you are upset over something little
- Cap – Another word for lying…as in “No cap (ie no lie) or “Stop capping (lying)
- Extra – Being over the top, excessive, dramatic
- Bussin – what you would say if something was really good
- Bougie – Used to describe someone as high class, literally or figuratively
- Sheesh – Used when you’re impressed or amazed by something
- Drip – Coolness…whether it’s an outfit/accessory, person, song, etc.
