Even after we (and everyone else) told you not to look directly at the eclipse yesterday without special glasses…did you do it anyway?
It was the top trending subject on Google yesterday afternoon with searches for things like “seeing spots”, “eyes hurt” and “accidentally look at eclipse” skyrocketing.
How do you know if you really did some damage or are just being paranoid?
According to Mashable and Live Science if you experienced any of these symptoms last night or you still have them today, you might want to see an eye doctor:
- Blurry vision
- A blind spot in one or both of your eyes
- Distorted vision
- Changes in the way you see colors
- Extra sensitivity to light
Just because you don’t feel any pain doesn’t mean you’re out of the woods, either.
Newser reports the effects may not happen until 12 hours afterwards so you may want to book an appointment with your optometrist just in case.
