Eating better to sleep better 😴

Having trouble sleeping these days?

It may not be because the state of the world…it could be what’s in your stomach!

If you wake up in the middle of the night, feel restless throughout the day, have heartburn or an upset stomach those are all signs that your diet might be disrupting your slumber, according to the NY Post.

Here’s the food you need to stay away from for a good night’s rest:

  • Processed junk food
  • Anything with high fat or acid content
  • Anything with caffeine (including chocolate)
  • Greasy, heavy meals

Doctors also recommended you cut down your portion sizes because if you’re too full, you won’t sleep well (and alcohol does you no favors, either0.

There are many good foods to eat to help you get that rest including:

  • Bananas
  • Almonds
  • Cherries
  • Oatmeal
  • Turkey
  • Kiwi
  • Greek yogurt
  • Warm milk

Maybe Grandma was right all along! 👵🤔🥛 #GoFigure
