It’s not even Summer yet…but some of you already have that “lobster” look!
Sunburn remedies are way up, according to Google Trends.
Here are the top five sunburn fixes people are Googling right now, with some thoughts from the experts:
“Does shaving cream help a sunburn?” Yes and no. It won’t magically get rid of it but shaving creams usually have menthol which can cool your skin down and help with the inflammation.
“Does aloe help?” A BIG “YES!” Aloe vera helps with the pain, redness and inflammation and helps your skin produce more collagen so it heals faster.
“Does vinegar help?” Um….whaaaa? Some people swear apple cider vinegar works for sunburns…but vinegar is acidic, so you have to dilute it a lot because if you don’t, it can burn you even more.
“Do lotions help with sunburns?” Yes, but make sure it’s non-oil based. Anything with oil can trap the heat in and make it hurt more if you put it on too soon so maybe wait a day with oil-based ones.
“Does coconut oil help?” Yes, maybe…but again, don’t put it on right away or the oil can trap in the heat.
