Foods that help fight colds

Coming down with a cold…or already have one?

Time to put some chicken soup on the stove!

Long thought to help cold sufferers, EatThis says it really does work thanks to an immune-boosting compound in chicken called carnosine that helps with mucus and can clear your nose if you’re stuffed up.

The lesson, as always…listen to your Mom! 🍵

Other cold-fighting foods:

Oysters They’re loaded with zinc, the active ingredient in many cold medicines.

Garlic  It blocks enzymes involved in bacterial and viral infections and boosts your immune cells (garlic extract pills do the same job and are less stinky).

Almonds  Micronutrients in the outer skin help you boosting the sensitivity of your white blood cells, which ward off disease.

Kiwi  Studies have showed that eating kiwis can help clear up a cold quicker.

What remedies work for you?
