Who gets the best night’s sleep…back, side or stomach sleepers?
A new OnePoll study about sleep found that people who sleep on their backs fall asleep the fastest…but side sleepers get the most shut-eye.
- “Back sleepers” get to sleep quicker, taking average of 20 minutes and 6 seconds to fall asleep but they only average 5 hours and 17 minutes of sleep a night. They’re more likely to describe themselves as “early birds” but also sleepwalk and talk in their sleep the most and they have the most nightmares.
- “Side sleepers” take four minutes longer to drop off at about 23 minutes and 53 seconds but get 5 hours and 47 minutes of sleep a night…an extra 30 minutes. They’re also most likely to describe themselves as “night owls.”
- “Stomach sleepers” are in the middle…literally! They take 22 minutes and 31 seconds to fall asleep, get 5 hours and 39 minutes a night and are less likely to be an early bird OR a night owl.
Note that all are WELL below the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep per night…welcome to 2019! 🤷♀️
