“Go Red” for women’s health

Have you noticed people wearing red today?

The American Heart Association has designated the first Friday of February as “Go Red For Women” Day!

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women…more than all forms of cancer combined.

“Go Red” is also an acronym:

  • G is “Get Your Numbers” on your blood pressure and cholesterol
  • O is “Own Your Lifestyle” by exercising, eating healthy and quitting smoking
  • R is “Realize Your Risk”…heart disease kills one in three women
  • E is “Educate Your Family” by teaching your kids to live a healthy life
  • D is “Don’t Be Silent”…let other women know about their risk

The symptoms of a heart attack are different for women than they are for men…it often goes undetected until it’s too late…so share this infor and raise awareness of women’s risk today!
