Are you a triskaidekaphobe?
We aren’t…neither is Taylor Swift…in fact, it’s her lucky number!
Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13…and it’s also a Friday!
Don’t worry, though…today is the only Friday the 13th of the year.
Should you be wary…or is it just another day?
A new YouGov poll found one in five of us DO believe it’s an unlucky day.
How about:
- Walking under a ladder? 21% of us think it causes bad luck
- Stepping on a crack? 12%
- Breaking a mirror? 21% (Dave broke a wine glass today! 🍷😱)
- Black cats? 15%
- Seeing an owl? 10%
- Opening an umbrella indoors? 19%
- The number 6-6-6? 21%
- Being on the 13th floor of a building? Ironically, 13%!
- Passing a cemetery without holding your breath? 8% (and another 6% say the same about tunnels!)
So what brings you good luck?
The survey also asked about things that bring GOOD luck. Here are ten lucky things we’re superstitious about . . .
- Knocking on wood
- Throwing salt over your shoulder
- Finding a penny heads up
- Saying “bless you” when someone sneezes
- Crossing your fingers
- Ladybugs
- Seeing a shooting star
- Finding a four-leaf clover
- Seeing a rainbow
- Making a wish at 11:11
- Getting the big half of a wishbone
One in three of us have some sort of lucky charm…what’s yours?
