Harvey: How you can help

Houston and Southwestern Texas have been ravaged by Hurricane Harvey…here’s how you can help out:

  • Text “HARVEY” to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross
  • Text “STORM” to 51555 to make a donation to the Salvation Army
  • You can help displaced pets by donating to the SPCA of Texas
  • The United Way of Tompkins County has a “Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Fund” where you can make a donation
  • Royal Auto Group is teaming up with the Cortlandville Fire Department and collecting monetary donations (change, cash, checks and credit card donations) at their GM and Nissan dealerships Friday 9/1 from 7am-5pm
  • Stupid Choppers in Cortland is collecting water, non-perishable food items, toiletries and more Friday-Sunday 9/1-3

The New York Times has a list of charities helping out in the relief efforts…plus how to make sure you don’t get scammed by fake ones.

No donation is too small so please give what you can…and thanks!
