Not feeling it this Christmas?
You may have an early case of the Winter blues.
Good news: Researchers have figured out a way for you to get over them!
The bad news: The key is to avoid sweets…like all of those Christmas cookies and other desserts you’ve already had and/or have been looking forward to eating.
The sugar in holiday desserts can lead to “metabolic, inflammatory, and neurobiological processes that are connected to depression and negative feelings”, according to Study Finds.
Bottom line…they trigger the sad.
Combine that with the shorter days and lack of sunlight and it’s a perfect storm for depression.
So avoid the sweets and you should feel better…and maybe drop a pound or two, too!
