How to break your cellphone addiction

How long do you spend on your phone every day?

Probably longer than you think.

A new Gallup poll of more than 1,500 teenagers has found that the average teenager spends 4.8 hours on social media every single day!

That ranges from as “low” as 4.1 hours for 13-year-olds to a high of 5.8 hours for 17-year-oldsĀ  before dropping back to 4.5 hours for 19-year-olds.

More girls than boys spend at least four hours on social media and the girls who are online spend more time there than boys.

And it’s not just teens who are on their phones all day long.

What can you do about it?

Maybe you should go “black and white.”

The tech siteĀ Wired says if you switch your phone screen to all black and white instead of the millions of colors you have now it can help you break your addiction.

All those colors are positive reinforcements that keep you scrolling and tapping so by going grayscale, you won’t have as much of an urge to use your phone and it’s easy to do it on iPhones and Androids.

Some say it works…others say no…but it’s something you may want to try,

After all, you can always switch back to “normal” mode.
