How to get in the door

These days it’s more difficult than ever to land a job interview.

Most potential employees are directed to apply online and often never get a response back.

What can increase your chances of getting a call-in?

PR Newswire recommends you:

  • Customize your resumé
  • Include a cover letter
  • List your skill sets first before your work experience and education
  • Send it to a specific person in the company (i.e. the hiring manager)
  • Add a link to your blog, website or work portfolio

Remember that potential employers don’t print out resumés anymore…they read them online…so make ’em look good!
