How to impress your boss

Need a few brownie points at work?

Time has a few tips on how you can go from your boss’ outhouse to the penthouse:

“Manage up”

Manage people above you and help them succeed (like your boss). When they do, you’ll be rewarded, too!

The power of “Thank you!”

Expressing gratitude for your boss’s feedback on your work (even if it’s negative) will endear you to them…it shows you can take constructive criticism well.

Get to work early

No brainer, right? People who show up early to work are seen as more competent by both bosses and coworkers.

Work out your own problems

Take inititiative when you’re stuck at work and only bring stuff to your boss if you really can’t figure it out.  Even then, have some solutions in mind, so they don’t have to come up with them all the time.

We smell promotion…and a nice raise! 💰
