How to make groceries last longer

We’re all supposed to make as few trips to the grocery stores as possible to help stop the spread of Coronavirus…and we are, so keep up the good work!

BuzzFeed has some great food hacks to make your food last a little longer including:

Wrap up your greens  Put a paper towel in your lettuce or spinach bag…it’ll absorb the extra moisture and keep them from getting soggy.

Re-wrap your cheese  It’s actually good for your cheese to breathe so put it in wax paper instead of plastic wrap…then put the whole thing inside a partially open plastic bag. You’ll like the way it tastes, too!

Freeze your broth  Many recipes call for just a little bit of chicken stock, so don’t waste a whole bottle.  Freeze the rest in ice cube trays so it’s easy to use later.

“Arrange” your herbs. Store your herbs just like you display your flowers. Keep them upright in a glass with a little water in the bottom to lengthen their shelf life.

How cool are these tips? What are some of yours?
