It’s “National Hot Dog Day”! 🌭

Happy “National Hot Dog Day”!

Zippia says we’ll eat 7 BILLION hot dogs between Memorial Day and Labor Day, so we’re right in that sweet spot today.

The city that eats the most hot dogs is right here in Upstate New York…Buffalo is #1 followed by Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Carolinas love their dogs…ranking second and third to West Virginia, the state that consumes the most…Illinois, Maine, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Nevada wrap up the top ten.

Mustard (of course) is the most popular topping…but do you put it in the bun first or on top of the dog once it’s in the bun?

According to OnePoll, 75% of us have put the condiments in the bun before the hot dog at some point.

For the record, the official hot dog etiquette guide says you should never place condiments between the bun and the hot dog…always put the dog in first!

And one last stat…53% of people say a hot dog IS a sandwich.

Let the debate begin…again!
