Summer’s just begun…but the kids may already be driving you crazy!
Never fear…we’ve got some ideas to keep them busy all season long:
Have them find odd jobs to do in the neighborhood Study Finds has a list of the best summer jobs for kids including mowing lawns, babysitting and dog walking.
Try and get a jump start on the next school year Even if your kids’ school doesn’t require them to work over the summer months, some children need the extra effort to stay on track.
Have them volunteer Churches, food pantries, senior citizen centers and many other businessed could use a pair of extra hands (or two!).
Let them BE bored Some psychologists say it’s actually good for kids to be bored in the summer because it helps them become more self-reliant and creative. If you’re always shuttling them from one activity to the next, they’ll never learn how to fill their own time.
We’d also add to let kids be KIDS during the summer…it should be their time off like it was ours!
