Making your home healthier

What’s cleaner…the air inside your home or outside of it?

Despite what 61% of Americans think, indoor air is actually 2 to 5 times more polluted according to Second Nature.

That’s why you should open your windows on nice days (like this week).

Here are some other ways to make your home healthier:

Take your shoes off at the door  The bottoms of your shoes have everything from E. coli to pesticides on them.  Yes, you’ll be THAT person who asks everyone to take their shoes off when they come in…but you’ll also be healthier and you’ll vacuum less…not a bad trade-off!

Filter your water.  Even if you think your tap water is fine, it’s still the healthiest option.  You never know what kind of chemicals and toxins are in it, especially if you have old pipes.

Change your light bulbs and pay attention to the color temperature  The right bulbs can create a more calming environment, which is good for your mental health. Check out Life Hacker for the right lighting for each room in your home.
