“Milking” cucumbers 🥒

You may have milked a cow in your day…maybe a goat…and many a joke…but have you ever milked a cucumber?

Buzzfeed‘s noticed a new TikTok hack where people cut off the end of a cucumber and then rub it in a circular motion.

As they dot, white liquid comes out of the edges of the cucumber (aka the “milking” part) and then they brush it off to eat it.

Why do this?

The “milk” is an organic compound called cucurbitacin and it causes the bitterness you sometimes get in cucumber slices…so by removing it, your cucumber will taste fresher and less bitter!

Try it…and let us know how it goes!
