Your kids should stay in their car seats longer that you thought.
The American Academy of Pediatrics adjusted their car seat policy according to CNN.
They recommended children should be in rear-facing car seats until they’re two…now they say to keep them facing backwards until they’re 40 pounds regardless of age…even up to 65 pounds.
It lowers their risk of a serious injury in an accident by 70%…so it’s best to keep them that way as long as possible.
Also make sure your seat is properly installed…many aren’t…most fire departments will check it for you.
