Relationship “phrases”

We talk about it all the time…communication is one of the most important parts of a healthy relationship…and we all need work on it.

With that in mind, the Huffington Post has a few phrases to add into your conversations with your partner, according to relationship experts:

“I like you just the way you are”  You shouldn’t try to force each other to change too much (because it probably won’t happen regardless of what you do) so work on accepting them for who they are.

“Tell me all about it”  If they’re dealing with something stressful, listen to them, ask questions and don’t interrupt too much.

“How can I help?”  Don’t just try to fix things by guessing what they need, ask them.  Sometimes you CAN’T fix things and they just need a sounding board.

“I’m so lucky to be with you”  Maybe you’ve said it before but it doesn’t hurt to reminding them every now and again. It’s important for them to hear it and for you to hear yourself saying it, too.

“I was wrong, you were right”  Everyone makes mistakes but not everyone acknowledges them which can build resentment.  When you realize you were wrong, admit it.
