There are important things that everyone should learn: How to read, financial literacy…and how to switch your phone to silent.
A recent Reddit stream asked people what underrated skills everyone should learn…a few of our favorites:
- First aid including life-saving basics like CPR and the Heimlich maneuver
- How to swim not just for exercise or recreation, but also as a life skill
- Cooking is healthier for you AND you’ll save money, too
- Basic home and car maintenance
- Sewing
- Spelling, because we rely on our devices to do it for us
Reading social media clues was also mentioned along with learning how to say “No” and being patient.
