Sleep…and how to get more of it

Having trouble falling asleep…or staying asleep?

You’re not alone.

People reports that almost two-thirds of us struggle to fall asleep for many different reasons…anxiety about the next day, worries about money and the pandemic…even itchiness!

We try lots of things to fall asleep and stay asleep including having a little wine, aromatherapy, reading, using a nasal rinse and  watching boring documentaries.

One doctor says you should try wearing socks to bed…and she’s gone viral!

Massachusetts Dr. Jess Andrade said in a Tik Tok post that wearing socks makes your feet warm and opens up the blood vessels that cools the body down so you’ll fall asleep faster.

She also espouses the “10-3-2-1-0” method.

  • Stop drinking caffeine 10 hours before bed
  • Stop eating or drinking alcohol three hours before
  • Stop doing work two hours before to unwind
  • Stop looking at screens one hour before bed
  • Hit snooze zero times in the morning

What do you do to fall asleep?
