What you should NEVER flush down your toilet 🚽

With the “run” on toilet paper (sorry!) people are now using other items in its place.

DON’T do it!

Public health officials are worried these “alternatives” can back up sewage systems and septic tanks…yet another thing to worry about.

Here’s the things you shouldn’t be flushing, according to House Beautiful:

Wet wipes  Even if they say “flushable,” they aren’t.  They don’t break down like toilet paper does and it can clog your plumbing or your local sewage system if enough people do it…it also applies to baby wipes and moist towelettes.

Paper towels or tissues  They also don’t break down in water like toilet paper does.

Antibacterial wipes  Good for disinfecting…NOT good for flushing.

Feminine hygiene products  The same goes for Q-tips and cotton pads.

Dental floss  It can wrap around things and cause blockages…just like your hair!
