Supporting our local businesses

The Coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing the ways we interact with the world…from working at home to concert and event cancellations, we are all either feeling its effects or know someone who is.

That said, one sector of our community is being hardest hit…and that’s our local businesses.

Bars and restaurants have been impacted the most…Governor Cuomo is closing down gyms and casinos across the state as of 8pm tonight and has ordered all restaurants and bars to revert to takeout or delivery only also starting at 8pm tonight. He’s also reduced the number of people at any event to less than 50.  Keep up to date on all of the breaking developments at 870AM/959FM News Talk WHCU.

One great way to support local businesses who need cash now is buy purchasing a gift card for use at a later date once the pandemic has eased…we have plenty of great local businesses who could use that support at CayugaMarketplace.com.

Another great way to help our neighbors is if you are ordering food for delivery or take-out to get it from a local restaurant or food provider. All businesses have begun the protocol of ensuring their workspaces are disinfected and clean to stop the spread of Coronavirus and it’s doubly true for our fantastic local eateries.

Be safe. Be informed.
