The art of (hotel) tipping 💵

Summer vacations have begun! ☀😎🏊‍♀️

Do you tip the staff when you stay at a hotel?

According to a recent survey, 46% of us do tip their maids…but 41% do not.

Should you?

Yes, according to the experts…hotel staff rely on tips to earn a living.

Here are some guidelines:

Tip at least a dollar per night. That’s the bare minimum.  Some experts say two bucks per night…and if it’s a nice resort or they did a great job, up to five dollars a night.

Do it daily. You might have different people cleaning your room every day so experts recommend leaving a tip every day.

Make a mess? Leave a larger tip. Big family get together? All night rager? Give your staff a few extra dollars for the extra work.

Great service? Tell them about it!  Leave a note along with your tip to let them know about it.

CNN, The Points Guy and Your Mileage May Vary have some more helpful tipping guidelines for you, too.
