Is ChatGPT your new best friend?
Yeah…about that…
Despite all the great things it can do (including making you a Muppet!), tech experts are sounding the alarm about the information you share with A-I.
Tom’s Guide says to avoid these:
- Your passwords Don’t tell it to remember your password or is could end up on the dark web someday.
- Things that could be used to steal your identity Think your passport info or passport info or your Social Security number…even your full name and address might be risky.
- Financial information Don’t share things like bank account numbers or crypto keys. Some do it by mistake, for example summarizing a document and not realizing your account number is on there.
- Illegal activity Open A-I track conversations so even if you’re “just joking”, they have the authority to “detect or prevent” illegal activity and share it with authorities if required by law.
- Embarrassing secrets Hackers could use them to blackmail you for money.
Just like everything else you do to keep your personal info safe, remember to follow those same rules with A-I.
We’re already moving towards trusting A-I more and more…in fact a new study by Express Legal Funding found that a third of us already think ChatGPT is more reliable than its human counterparts.
Scaaaarrrrrry stuff, kids! 😨
