The difference between colds, flu and COVID

Cold and flu season is here…how can you tell the difference between just the sniffles or something more serious?

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a great breakdown on all three.

First off, coronavirus fevers are stronger and cause chills and major discomfort…COVID-19 patients also have a dry cough and a loss of smell or taste along with that fever.

If all you have is just a runny nose, it’s probably unlikely you have COVID-19.

Flu sufferers will have fever and chills but not loss of smell or taste…and both cold and flu suffers will have a wet cough with phlegm versus a dry one.

Health experts also say this is the year you should get a flu shot…it won’t prevent you from getting coronavirus but will help your immune system and protect you from getting both at the same time, which could cause serious problems.

Check out this report on the flu season from Good Morning America.
