The food that zap your energy

Are you dragging today?

It’s probably what you ate (or drank)!

Here are some of the things we eat that can make us tired, according to the HuffPost:

Coffee and energy drinks  Too much caffeine can lead to a crash about five hours later, so if you load up on coffee in the morning, you might feel wiped out later in the day…and too much of it late in the day can also disrupt your sleep cycles.

Candy  You’ll get that “sugar rush” but the crash is inevitable.

Smoothies  The sugar thing again…and because it’s liquified, it gets into your bloodstream faster than if you ate fruit instead.

Low-calorie frozen meals  Some of them have 300 calories or less, which isn’t really enough to keep you going…plus they tend to be filled with salt, which causes bloating and gives you an overall feeling of fatigue.

The next time you’re sluggish, try a banana, some pistachios, black beans and even eggs will give you a boost…and just drinking more water can help, too.
