The healthiest diets for the New Year

There are SOOOO many diets out there…which one is the best for you?

U.S. News & World Report just released its annual ranking of the healthiest diets to try this year and last year’s #1 is on top again…the Mediterranean Diet!

In fact it’s been the top diet for eight years running!

It’s where you limit sweets, processed foods and red meat and eat lots of fruits, veggies, grains, nuts and healthy fats like chicken and fish.

Here’s the rest of the Top 5:

The DASH Diet:  It’s designed to lower blood pressure.

The Flexitarian Diet:  You’re mostly a vegetarian but sometimes eat meat.

The MIND Diet:  It’s a combo of Mediterranean and DASH with a focus on brain health.

The Mayo Clinic Diet:  A three-month program for weight loss where you eat balanced meals with smaller portions (and can’t eat while watching TV).

Others include TLC Diet, the Menopause Diet, Dr. Weil’s Anti-Inflammatory Diet, Volumetrics and the Cleveland Clinic Diet.

Good luck…you got this!
