For most of us, Memorial Day means fun in the sun, cookouts and a welcome day off.

Do you know the true meaning of Memorial Day?

Only 55% of Americans polled in a new survey knew that it’s a day honoring those who died while serving our country.

About 21% will fly a flag at half-staff on Memorial Day Monday, 20% will go to a parade or other event and 18% will visit the grave of someone who died while they were serving in the military.
