The perfect handshake

With New York once again open, more people are reconnecting…and dare we say…

SHAKING HANDS?!?

(Dramatic music swell up!)

Well, you may be a little out of practice…so here are the five keys to the perfect handshake from Zippia:

  1. Wipe your hands off first. No one wants to shake a clammy hand.
  2. You GO first. Initiate it…it shows you’re confident and excited to meet them.
  3. Right hand, man.  Use your right hand. (Sorry, lefties….that’s the rule.)
  4. Smile and make eye contact.  Again, confidence.
  5. Keep it short. Two to three pumps is good…more than starts to feel awkward.

Oh…and make it fairly strong…don’t crush their hands but don’t just put your hand in theirs.

Now get out there and press some flesh!
