Wedding money-saving tips

With the cost of the average wedding at over $35,000 these days (!), it’s no surprise that ‘cost-effective” weddings are all the rage RN.

BuzzFeed‘s got a rundown of some of things you don’t really need at your wedding, according to wedding and event planners:

  • Wedding favors with the couple’s name on it…people don’t save them anymore
  • A bottle of fancy champagne for every table…most gets thrown away
  • A BIG expensive cake…cupcake and donut towers are cheaper and distinctive
  • Elaborate centerpieces…no one really checks them out anyway
  • Hard liquor…beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks are fine

The more money you save on your wedding, the more you’ll have to spend on your honeymoon! #WinWin
