Wedding traditions we’d ditch

Last year was a very untraditional year for weddings…but they’re back in 2021.

Sooooo…should we use the break to update them?

A new survey asked people the wedding traditions they could do without…the results:

Should the bride promise to “obey” her husband?  No surprise here…50% say get rid of it…but only 38% of men agree, compared to 61% of women. 🤔

Should the bride’s family pay for it?  Looks like it…43% say yes and only 25% said no.

Should you avoid each other until the ceremony?  28% think it’s silly in 2021.

Should the bride should wear white?  24% think that’s outdated.

Should the bride’s father giving her away?  Only 14% say to eliminate it.

Should the bride toss the bouquet?  11% are sick of it.

Should the bride toss the garter toss?  26% vote no.

Should we throw rice or birdseed on the couple?  31% say stop doing that.

The two wedding traditions most people want to keeP?

The bride and groom’s first dance and the exchanging of rings…less than 6% would drop those from the nuptials.

Which one(s) would you eliminate?

Out with the old: With 2026 nigh, here’s some wide-ranging intel on managing transitions

It's that time — December's waning days, when we prepare to turn the calendar page. Many Americans take stock, review goals accomplished and unmet, ponder hopes and plans. How's our health? What's up with our money? What about the country? Will the coming year look like the departing one year, or be something entirely different? Are we ready?
