What are the things that dad taught us?
Two new surveys asked that question!
The most practical ‘dad skills’ we learned from our fathers according to SWNS are:
- How to cook dinner or grill meat
- How to put up a tent
- How to tie a necktie
- How to hang a picture so it’s level and won’t fall
- How to build a fire
Another Father’s Day survey in the NY Post found that many of these ‘dad skills’ are on the decline.
Only 63% of millennial dads can change a flat tire versus 79% of baby boomer dads.
Just 54% of millennial fathers can reset a tripped circuit breaker (85% for BB dads).
63% say can jump start a car (86% of BB dads can)…65% can unclog a sink (as opposed to 86% of their dads)…and only 59% of dads today are confident they could open a stuck pickle jar with their hands (81% of older dads are up to the challenge).
BTW…32% of millennial dads said they don’t even own a hammer…which makes a tool kit the perfect gift for them for Father’s Day!
