What’s “quiet cracking”?

Are you just holding it together at work these days?

Does your boss think you’re fine but you’re secretly overwhelmed?

Maybe you’re “quiet cracking”!

That’s when you’re still handling your job (maybe even crushing it at work) but secretly not doing great.

You’re meeting all your deadlines and on the surface it seems like you’re fine but behind the scenes, you feel like you can’t keep it up much longer.

It’s a step above burnout but you haven’t hit the “quiet QUITTING” stage yet when you’re doing the bare minimum to keep your job.

It’s becoming a big problem, according to Resume Templates and Inc.

59% of employees said they’re currently quiet cracking and another 20% said they were recently…that’s 4 of five workers!

Why?

  • Too much work
  • Personal life stress
  • Bad management
  • Repetitive work
  • Poor compensation
  • A lack of recognition
  • Limited opportunities for growth

How do we cope?

Taking time off and looking for a new job…in fact, 62% of crackers say they’re at least “somewhat likely” to leave their job in the next six months.
