Parenting just got a little more diffcult thanks to COVID-19…and it was no cakewalk in the first place!
A new Sun survey of 2,000 parents tried to determine age “benchmarks”…when your kids should be allowed to get (or do) certain things…the results:
- First allowance at 9 years old
- Playing outside without an adult around at 10
- First phone at 11
- Walking home from school alone at 11
- First sleepover at a friend’s house at 12
- First job at 13
- Staying home alone at 13 years old
As always, your results may vary…but they’re a good starting point to decide when your kids should be ready to handle a little more responsibility.
