Work Computer Don’ts

Unless your retired (or independently wealthy!) you probably work for a living…and probably would like to keep it that way.

Business Insider has a list of the things you should never store on your work computer(s) if you want to keep your job:

Personal photos or videos  Mostly because they can take up a lot of hard drive space.  If someone in your IT department has access to your computer, they might tell your boss and it can make you look unprofessional.

Video games  Again, you’ll look unprofessional if someone finds out plus it might make your computer or your company’s servers more vulnerable to hackers.

Anything related to another job.  That includes job searches, too like resumes or cover letters.

Offensive jokes or memes  You shouldn’t be sending them through your work email in the first place…but if someone sends YOU something like that, delete it as soon as you can.  People get fired for it all the time.

Porn  Sounds obvious, right? However just like the jokes and memes people get caught with it on their work computers all the time especially if it’s a laptop they travel with or take home with them.

Looks like we’ve got some deleting to do! 😉
