Getting married in 2019?
Congratulations! Here’s what you need to know!
The Knot just released its annual “Real Weddings Study” with all sorts of info about weddings in 2019.
The average cost? $33,931 (!) down $1400 from 2017.
The average dress is $1,631…the groom’s outfit $283 (Bargain!)…the photographer will cost $2,700, a band is about $4,247, the flowers are $2,411, booze is $2,564 and food is $70 per guest…all that adds up quickly.
The biggest expense? The reception venue averaging $15,439!
It’ll take you about 528 hours just planning your wedding…that’s over two months of full eight-hour days!
You’ll have about 136 guests…and some of the traditions are changing, too.
Only 33% of weddings last year included a garter toss, just 45% of brides tossed their bouquet and 49% of all weddings were officiated by a friend or family member, a trend which we’re on board with.
Another trend is mixed wedding parties…28% of brides had “bridesmen” in their bridal party and 11% of grooms had “groomsmaids”.
Also 7% of weddings incorporated a pet in some way…another cool trend!
Another popular wedding trend? Vaping in your wedding photos, according to “Elle” magazine!
And it’s not just about the bride…Yahoo News says two-thirds of men have been looking forward to their wedding day since the were younger…and are as excited (if not more!) about their “big day”!
And no matter what the cost of your wedding, if you run over budget…you’re in good company…only 6% of couples who set a wedding budget last year actually stayed under it!
