There’s a new scam alert targeting New York’s senior citizens.
Finger Lakes Daily News reports on a scheme where scammers are asking people to buy physical gold bars or coins and deliver them to a courier or mail it rather than transferring money.
State police remind everyone that legitimate government agencies and financial institutions will never ask you to buy gold to protect your assets.
They say it’s a MAJOR warning sign if someone tells you to keep a transaction secret or lie to bank employees.
Be diligent…be aware…and be on the lookout for those vulnerable for these sorts of scams.
