Is COVID keeping you awake?

COVID-19 has us all stressed out these days…and sometimes these nights, too.

The NY Post reports that many of us are having nightmares due to the pandemic…there’s even a website called IDreamOfCovid where people have been submitting their Coronavirus-inspired dreams.

Here are four sleep tips from experts to reduce stress and get a good night’s sleep:

Structure your day  When you stick to a routine, you help your body stay in sync with its circadian rhythm according to Sleep.org…and that alone helps you sleep better.

Keep your work and sleep spaces separate.  It helps your brain make the mental distinction between the two so your work stress won’t carry over into your dreams.

Skip those late-night “doomscrolling” sessions  “Doomscrolling” is when you can’t stop reading depressing news about the crisis online…don’t do it right before bed.

Unplug.  Easier said than done, but unplugging from technology an hour before bedtime will help you fall asleep quicker and get a better night’s rest.
